Come As You Are

How we help

We are here to help you walk through some of the hardest steps and get you started with the next chapter in your life.

Ways we help

  • Housing

A path toward affordable housing that grows responsibility and independence. Not a forever program. A step toward a place that is yours.

  • IDs and documents

Leaving a plain culture often means starting without the paperwork society expects. We help you get what you need so you can work, bank, and get around.

    • Social Security card

Needed for most jobs and many official forms. We help you apply and know what to bring.

    • Birth certificate

Often required before you can get other IDs. We help you request a certified copy and prove who you are.

    • Driver's license

Freedom to work, shop, and get to appointments. Most states want a birth certificate and Social Security card first. We help you through the steps.

  • Church and community

Connection to church and people who will know you by name. Community is part of how a new life sticks.

  • Life skills

Practical classes so you can stand on your own two feet. Taught by people from local churches and the wider community. Start with what you need and build from there. We also work on GED connections nearby.

  • Counseling and extra support

One-on-one mentoring and counseling when a one-time conversation is not enough. When the need is bigger, we lean on partners: pro bono attorneys, social workers, nurse practitioners, and psychologists.
